Extended studs are necessary if you are installing lift spacers, they allow you to install clearance spacers on the suspension shock absorber supports of your car.
They can also be used without spacers as an alternative to the original studs.

Material of studs:
• 40X steel is an alloyed carbon steel with a carbon content of about 0.4% and additions of chromium, molybdenum and manganese.
•These additives give the steel increased strength, hardness and resistance to wear. This type of steel is used in the manufacture of springs, springs, chains and other products that must be strong and wear-resistant.

Installation:
• These studs are longer and are installed to replace the short OEM studs.
• Remove the struts and replace the stock studs with the longer studs and lift spacers and install the shock absorber struts on the vehicle. Then shorten the studs if necessary.
